Had a recent discussion about the difference between Southern vs. Soul Food. I will keep the restaurant names out of it. (Paraphrased of course)

5:12 pm ME: That ain’t SOUL food!
its more like Southern food
5:13 pm Buddy: same thing
5:18 pm ME: THERES A DIFFERENCE…Soul food is Candy Yams, Pig Feet, Fried Chicken, Smothered Turkey(heart Attack food)…
Southern is Yams, Pulled Pork, Battered Chicken, Sliced Turkey (no heart attack)…See the difference???
I’ve also noticed that Soul Food spot’s are usually named after somebody’s Grandmother who put together all of the recipes.
